This device is a 2.5x focal extender that I bought to use with my Edge HD8 scope for attempting planetary imaging. Even with the long focal length of the Edge HD8, planets remain very small in the image frame. Adding this extender will hopefully give me the ability to capture more detail in planetary images that I have been able to before.

So far, I have only used this for a single attempt at a close up moon image. It is going to take some work to ensure all of the components required for this type of imaging are connected correctly, but I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to give it a try. I really want to capture Saturn in a way that shows off the captivating beauty of our Solar System's sixth planet.
